10月27日 musings of a monthWell its really been far too long since I last wrote. And although its been an interesting month (as always seems to be) I feel like sharing some of the cool stuff.
So Ive officially almost lived in Taupo for two months and finally am starting to feel like its where I belong. A funny moment at youth group on Wednesday night actually made me realise this. We were watching this funny video clip, and all the way thought, a group of guys in front of me were like - 'hah thats so and so' and making fun of each other. Not in a mean way, like teenage boy way. And then there was this clip about someone walking through life with a smile and they were like 'hey thats alicia haha'. Now to some of you it may seem like they were making fun of me. BUT - I just felt happy cause I was being included in an 'in' joke.
Another cool thing is that some of the youth group girls went to see thier principal to ask if I could come to school one lunch time and help them lead their Christian group! Cool huh> My boss had previously asked and they had said no, and no one asked the girls and they just did it. Also the chaplin at the school is leaving and wants me to apply for the position, which its such an awesome oppotunity, because camp really wants me to be the young person link in Taupo and Turangi regions. So I'm quite excited and kinda hope that something will come from it.
The last thing that is really exciting is that we have a teen camp coming up in Dec. The girls and guys are at different locations and I've had so much fun helping plan the program and such. We are gonna have a PJ party breakfast, a ladies tea party, a giant sleepover and a pamper afternoon. So I'm excited! I'm still looking for some leaders and the guys need some too - but I'm really looking for some people around my age who love God and are passionate about serving him - because I really want the teen sto have some awesome role models, and even build some friendship that might turn into mentoring situations. Its an exciting time and if you are available and what to come let me know. But if you live overseas, you can totally be prayin for us too!!!
Thats all for now :)
Luv Leesh 10月2日 Kids Camp and EarthquakesYesterday we had not one, but TWO earthquakes. Yes. The first one was 4.9 on the scale thingee. The other one was pretty small, but WOW, earthquakes are WOW. I have never felt one before, yesterday being my first time. And man, it makes you realise how fragile life is. FRAGILE. We could all be gone in a minute. That'll happen one day... r u ready???
Anyways, on a less morbid note - I have been having a heap of fun in Taupo. So much fun infact I haven't really kept up with all the blogging. But I am BACK IN ACTION. Well at least back enough to post once this month. Who knows it may even happen twice.
I'm finding it hard to remember what I actually did since I last posted... I think I went to Auckland, went to a 21st, worked, um yea. But last week was memorable. We had KIDS CAMP!! And it was awesome. Check out the awesome pics. Go on I know you want too. It actually started with a visit from Mum and Dad (super cool!) hehe. Yea it was so nice to have them here. And mum celebrated her bday on the Sunday and we had yummy breakfast at a cafe down the road ( I dont live in the big boonies, just the little ones) and then at lunch time the chef at camp iced a cake that said happy birthday. Nice aye?
Kids Camp! I didnt really know quite what I was doing at the beginning of the week, but by the end I was pretty busy and pretty ready for a break. But what an awesome week. WE saw the Father moving in kids hearts, and that was so cool. We had awesome worship - JC is my superhero being the theme song for the week. Awesome! So check out the pics - ok???
Bless ya heaps
Leesh out :P |
