Today is New Years Eve - as you may well be able to see by the date.  I have been away from Camp since the 18th - and its been a very refreshing time.  I always enjoy getting away from home occationally, it gives you a chance to dream again - to see the big picture now that you are a step back from it.

Arlene my cool American friend who works at Lake Whakamaru Christian Camp came up with me and stayed until Christmas day.  We had a heap of fun - one day we went into town and adventured around - but we both forgot our cameras!  Twas a shame.

Two days after Christmas we got in the car and drove up North.  On the way we stopped at a Texan Diner - but the food wasnt what I would call Texan.  Although the only time I've had Texan food was in China...

 

We stayed at Hihi Beach at my Mum's bosses place.  This is Brian and Patsy our hosts!

 

Here we are BBQing.  If you look closely you will see that I very much resemble my dad... aw.

 

The scallops!!  Yum.  Brian went diving and got these for us.  The next day we had crayfish too!

Thought I would share some photos with the world wide web from our girls teen camp.  It was the first weekend of December, and my very first 'event' that I've ever kind of run the 'entire show'.

 

We had 12 girls and some awesome leaders and it was such a great time.  Through the activities and just hanging out with the girls I hope we were able to share unconditional love with them.  Some of the girls come from quite hard backgrounds, and certainly from living situations that I cannot relate to.  But I know the love I have experience from the Father, through my family and the awesome people he's put in my life and hope that that we a little that we got to share.
